The time has come to bring the running streak to an end. I am sitting in the same Starbucks where, nine years ago this week, I signed the paperwork, left with a check in hand, and no longer owned a mobile car wash business.
It was time to move on; I had to end what I was doing to find my next chapter in life. It was with some highs and lows after that I would become a speaker, coach, author, radio show host.
It was 3½ years ago that I wrote my first blog post, using the same advice I always give my clients: get started and find the way. I did that with this blog for the first year. It was in 2011 that I made another move with my blog, using it to help people make changes. That’s when I started writing five days a week.
This week’s theme began with the idea of working toward the end of the book. The idea was to share that you must always start whatever you do with the end in mind. When I started this process I knew the day would come that I would have to move it to another format, to get this thing to roll in a way that keeps people growing and moving forward.
This week I visited and read through the blogs that helped me make the choice to write every day. I recalled Steve Scot and his site when he challenged himself to write a post a day while traveling for one year. I thought of another one of my mentors who still writes a few times a month on her blog, Rhonda Hess.
The time has come to end this run of writing a blog post a day; it’s time to move to another format to bring my message to another level. It’s time to take myself out of the comfort zone I am in and get back to building.
In 2010 it started with a blog. In 2011, it was taking this to social media and getting out and speaking. In 2012, it was having my own live events. Now, in 2013, we added monthly events to give entrepreneurs ideas for change.
In the past year I’ve had five events, seven monthly free events, hundreds of speaking engagements at others events, a weekly radio show. As I teach my clients, it’s all about ways to get your message out, but you must always be ahead of those you wish to lead. You must be willing to take on new ground to make your business move in a way that sets you apart as the leader.
So today will be the last of the daily posts. I’m choosing to do this in August so I can take two weeks off to redesign our blog and online presence. Yes, I will still be making blog posts, just not as regularly. We will be moving to more audio and video to share the message, as well as getting out to more towns to share our FREE mastermind experience. I will be focused more on finishing more books and am going to free up some time to get those done.
I want to say it’s been a great challenge to get a post done every day for the past two plus years. I hope you are ready to take your world to a new level as well and look forward to moving you forward with new ideas.
Take the time now to subscribe to our YouTube channel as well as our blog talk radio show. They may not be as exciting as shark week, but they will be a fun, eye-opening adventure to share this message on a different level.
