It’s another day in our week of entrepreneurs – why we need them and where we need them. This week I am working from Las Vegas and, more than ever, I am working outside the box to make my business grow.
This week in Vegas I am meeting with people from all walks of life. I had lunch with good friends, another speaker, and then dinner last night with my favorite event planner. But while I’m here I am asking each and every person I meet what they want to solve right now.
So I was talking to a salesman for a large cable and internet company and he told me about the top salesman in his company. He said the person found a way to more than double his income. This salesman has many different ways to get the sales he needs, but to do that he hires a staff to do the small things so he can focus on reaching his big goal.
Imagine that you want to make more sales in a month so, rather than knock on doors, you pay someone a small salary to knock on the doors or make the calls to get the sales leads. That is a man who thinks outside the box to create his world and make it better.
So I want you to look at where you are working. I know not everyone who reads this blog has a small business. Most people I talk to have jobs now and want to get to the point of having that business someday. To get there you must learn success; to do that you should first be a success at the place you are.
The main speech I have done for years was my “Steps to Success Where You Are.” I now have the video series of the same name to help you think about where you are and to realize what you need to be successful and love where you are at now. You grow from there.
So make a list today of the ways that you can increase your company’s profit, sales, efficiency, etc. The greatest thing needed in America is entrepreneurs, and we need them now to make the places we work better. My mother once said it was a sin to do less than your best. If you are not giving your best as an employee you need to start now.
It’s time to get out of that rut and think outside the box where you work; that is part of giving your best. Don’t worry about the money coming; in time it will come and you will become the RockStar for it.
I’m Tim Gillette, the Rocker Life Coach. It’s time to live your dream to love what you do and those you share life with. Give your best at your job and you will become the RockStar in your world.
