I am tired tonight. As I sit to write this post, I am just worn out tired. Some would say after months of working these 12 to 16 hour days that it’s time to take a break, take some time off and relax, enjoy the deserved time off and get back to work after a nice long break.
Most of the people who would give me that great advice are the ones who also ask, “So how are you building your business so fast? How are you getting that to work for you? What is your secret to finding new clients with your different way of doing business?”
Right now I am tired, but it’s close to the end of my day. I am about to go to bed for the night and get back up at 8:00 am and get started working just as hard tomorrow.
After five plus months of long days and working at different tasks to build my business, finally I am able to see results that show I am reaching my goals. Right now, my life is about a series of steps to get to the next level and I don’t want to take a break in between those steps.
This week is all about reaching the next level, in your life, and your business. Too many people decide to take a break when they are not to the next level yet. Yes, I am tired; and, yes, these days are long. But I’m not at a new level, and that is when you take the break to start planning the next leg of the journey.
My coach and mentor tells the story at each of his boot camps about all he was doing and how comfortable he was. Then he realized he wasn’t moving forward any more. He put into his life a rule that I have now put into mine: never get comfortable. I call it living outside the comfort zone. It may not be easy all the time but the adventure is worth it.
If right now you feel tired and you know the journey you are on isn’t finished, that you aren’t to the next level, then you must stay on the course to reach that next level. You take a break and reward yourself once you reach a goal or land on a new level. Celebrate for a day or two, then spend time getting ready to make your next push. But never, under any circumstance, do you stop until you reach that level. Are you ready for that adventuresome life outside the comfort zone?
