Changing my world 30 minutes at a time

I wanted to find something interesting to write for my first blog. I looked for a week and still no ideas. It is now one month after starting my new venture full-time and leaving a daily grind job. Working from home is great, and working for yourself even better. Most people want to do this but cannot find a way, or a path to take to make this happen so they keep working a job for someone or at someplace they really don’t like. So what can you do if you don’t know where to go. how to get started.

Today I was going down my list that I’ve been putting off for almost a month. I noticed I still have not gotten my  storage garage cleaned and organized. I had a little help over the weekend when I decided to add another motorcycle to it and had to now fit 3 of them in. Any way, I decided to go down and do just 30 minutes to clean some things up and then would work on it again later.

Well im sure you guessed by now it took me all of 45 minutes to do it all once I got started. I came back up to my office and thought about this for a few minutes and remembered what an old boss of mine told me way back when. At the time I was working 2 jobs and my car broke down and I needed to rebuild the motor. I was a good shade tree mechanic and could fix it. just didn’t have the time to get the work done. He told me spend just 1 hour a day working on it until you finish. I did and had a car with a brand new motor in a matter of 3 weeks time.

So how does this relate. What do you want to do? take and block out just 30 minutes each day set a timer if you must and spend that time each day planning and working towards that hard to reach goal. maybe its to write a book, start a business, start a new bible study, or maybe just build that new deck project out back. Start by research, then plan it , then do it. You will see that in no matter of time you will knock out all those tasks that you want and start living your dream today.

Rock on

Awesome. I wonder if something like this – 30 minutes a day – would work if one were planning on starting a new website she is sure the world needs (even though it may not know it yet). I’ll give it a try and report back! Thanks for the good suggestion.
